Core Data Platform Developers, Hertfordshire.
We are currently working with a client who are urgently looking for a number of Core Platform Developers to join their existing team in Hertfordshire.

They are looking for candidates to work on the metadata driven serverless core platform product, fraXses, and whilst the codebase is predominantly written in Scala they welcome developers with experience in any modern development language, that have an interest in functional programming, with a view to transitioning to Scala. There will be some overlap with the database developers so experience in SQL/NoSQL is also a requirement.

Requirements:

You will be able to demonstrate the ability to write clean, efficient and maintainable code in at least one modern programming language, ie Scala, Java, Kotlin, Go, Clojure, C++, Erlang, Ocaml,Rust, C#, F#, or Haskell along with a demonstrable knowledge and experience in SQL development and database operations.

You must be enthusiastic about working in an dynamic and fast paced development environment, and you will be self-motivated and have the ability to generate ideas for the future direction of the codebase.

Experience with modern container environments – Docker, Kubernetes etc, and experience in using Linux environments is essential, as is the ability to work with the minimum of supervision but also be part of a team.

It would be great if you had experience of Apache Spark or similar data processing tools – Apache Flink or Apache Ignite, and knowledge of NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Redis, CouchDB, Cassandra or Elasticsearch.
Experience building and working with distributed microservices and service orchestration would also be an advantage.

Familiarity with modern Continuous Integration and Build tools, GitLab, TeamCity, Jenkins, Travis CI, Circle CI, Bamboo etc would also stand any applicant in good stead.

These are urgent roles, happy to be filled remotely, the reason fir these opportunities is expansion, so if you would like to know about the roles and the company, please send me a copy of your cv along with an indication of your availability and salary expectations and you will be contacted by return.
