iOS Developer – Manchester (remote) – £25,000-£40,000 p/a

My client are an innovative fintech start-up, building the future of social payments. They are looking for an iOS developer responsible for the development and maintenance of their iOS app. Your primary focus will be the development of the app and it’s integration with back-end services.

You will be working along-side other engineers and developers working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and creating quality products is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate designs and wireframes into high quality code
  • Design, build, and maintain high performance, reusable, and reliable code
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application
  • Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization

Technical Skills – Essential

  • Strong knowledge of iOS SDK, different versions of iOS, and how to deal with different screen sizes
  • Capable and experienced developer using Swift
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect iOS applications to back-end services
  • Strong knowledge of iOS UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
  • Experience with threading and performance tuning
  • Ability to design applications around natural user interfaces, such as “touch”
  • Knowledge of the iOS ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
  • Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
  • A knack for benchmarking and optimization
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
  • Familiarity with continuous integration

Technical Skills – Desirable

  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform and/or Firebase
  • Experience working in agile product development in multi-functional teams

Soft Skills

  • Must be happy working in a start-up environment with an ‘all hands on deck’ approach – able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Open and honest communication skills
  • Commitment to simplicity in design, work, and relationships
  • Understanding of the importance of putting our users at the centre of everything we do and build
  • Experimental and innovative mindset – comfortable with change and happy to challenge the status quo
  • Collaborative working style – desire to be part of a team and an understanding that all team members have something important to bring to the table
