A Software Tester is responsible for designing test scenarios for the usability of software, the running of these tests, and the preparation of reports on the effectiveness and defects within a piece of software to present to the production team.
Software Tester’s must therefore have a working knowledge of software and test design, the capability to run thorough tests, and the ability to analyse the test results.
Software Tester Job Requirements
If you want to become a software tester, you should:
Have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
Have a working knowledge of programming
Be up-to-date with the word of software test design and testing methodologies
Have detailed knowledge of test techniques and compatibility with various software programmes
Good organisational skills and a detail-oriented mindset
Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
