The current COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic has had an impact on people all over the world – but it is fair to say that it has had the biggest impact on those who are the most vulnerable in our communities.

It is fantastic to see how everyone has pulled together and done what they can to help – whether it be volunteering to help with the sick, or developing vaccines and so on.

Here at Agile Recruit, we were so inspired by these stories that we wanted to do our bit to help.

We have been closely following the news and noticed that amongst the more attention-grabbing stories of those who are directly affected, there were hidden stories of the challenges being faced by charities – who have seen monumental reductions in their revenues at the same time as a peak in demand for their services.

We have decided, therefore, that for any job vacancy which is registered directly with Agile Recruit between 1st April and 30th June 2020, we will donate one-third of any resulting permanent placement fee or contractor margin supporting the following charities:

The National Emergencies Trust

logo for NET national emergencies trust in partnership with the British Red CrossThe National Emergencies Trust (NET) was set up in 2017 by the Charity Commission to collaborate with charities and other bodies in order to raise and distribute money and support victims of domestic disasters within the UK. It was born off the back of the terrible tragedies the UK faced that year – including the terrorist attack in Manchester and the Grenfell Tower disaster in London. NET is independent of the government and will be additional to what the state does.

The aim behind the creation of the NET is to give the public a central independent and trusted place to donate money, and also a single point of contact for victims to turn to as well.

NET’s Coronavirus Appeal in partnership with the British Red Cross is not only aimed at those who are struggling physically due to ill health but those who are suffering both economically and socially. Many small businesses have been affected by social distancing measures, and although the Government is doing its best to alleviate some of this pressure – it is the public that can really make a difference. NET has therefore launched an appeal to raise funds for local charities and grassroots organisations that will enable them to provide vital support in the quickest way possible.

Macmillan Cancer Support

macmillan cancer support logoMacMillan Cancer Support is a national organisation which was set up in order to support anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer. It was set up in 1911 for the cost of £10 by Douglas Macmillan and since then has grown to be the UK’s leading source of cancer support. It not only offers specialist health care and information, along with financial support, but it also researches the social, emotional and practical impact a cancer diagnosis can have – and campaigns for better cancer care.

The Coronavirus crisis is impacting people living with cancer significantly due to the delay of critical treatment, and additionally, Macmillan Cancer Support is a charity that needs our support because 25% of their annual income is derived from fundraising events that will be extremely curtailed across 2020 due to cancellations and social distancing rules.

Our pledge to help support these charities over the next three months will be done with all of our existing client base and any new client, so there will be no difference in service, approach, methods, tools, etc – all will be done with the exceptional levels we expect from our team.

To register any new vacancy please contact us through any of our normal channels or email: charity@agilerecruit.com
